Best Practices to Use Folio
Post a job on the platform with your desired pay rate, job description, start date, and goals.
Ensure that you connect your calendar. This will allow students you choose to interview to schedule a time with you.
As students apply to your job, they will show up in your job postings and you can manage them directly in the platform (See Hiring through Folio). You will also be notified via email when a new candidate applies. From your job posting, you can send them an interview invite or choose to reject them. Students who are selected for an interview will be able to schedule a time with you directly.
You can also search for students directly. On the sidebar, navigate to the ‘Discover’ page. You can use our search feature to look for any specific skills, schools, or locations to find interns. Once you click on a profile, you can send them an interview request with a message. An automatic email from Folio will be sent to them with a link to schedule a time on your calendar.
We highly recommend reaching out to the student after 2 days if they have not yet scheduled an interview with you yet. To find their email address, click on their profile in your job posting and use the email in their resume.
After you complete your interviews, go to your job posting and click the ‘Interviewing’ tab. From there, you can select who you want to hire by clicking the ‘Hire’ button (See Hiring through Folio for more information). You can also hire a student directly from the 'Applied' tab by using the three dots next to their name and selecting 'Hire.'
