After you complete your onboarding process, you may have noticed a small red “INCOMPLETE” badge beside your name.
If you see this button, it means your profile isn’t populated to our standards. You won’t be able to change your status to “Available” until your Incomplete notification is gone, meaning that employers won’t be able to view your profile, and you won’t appear in employer’s search results.
To be marked as completed
and visible to employers, you must upload at least one project, a brief bio, your resume, and add your skills.
Projects can be past school projects, freelancing projects, challenges you’ve done, or past work projects. To add a project, click on the plus sign in the upper left-hand of your screen in the Projects Tab of your profile.
Where, you’ll enter details about the name, company, and start and end dates of your project, as well as the goal, tasks, outcome, and skills related to the project. Finally, you’ll upload relevant images of your project.
You’ll have the chance to review your project before publishing it to your portfolio. Once you hit “Publish,” your project will be publicly available, and anyone who views your portfolio can see it. If you’re not ready to publish your project just yet, you can save it as a draft and return to it later.
You can add skills by clicking on the plus sign under your “Skills & Tools” Section on your Profile. Once you click on the plus sign, you’ll see a page that looks like the one below. To add a skill, simply start typing the name of your skill in the Search box.
To add a link to your profile, hover over the “Links” section of your profile, then click on the pencil icon in the upper right hand corner when it appears.
We would recommend that you add any applicable external links such as LinkedIn, Github, or Portfolio.
Your availability is simple to add and lets employers see your portfolio. Simply select the “Unavailable” text below your profile image and change your status to “Available.”
Please note—this action can only be done once your profile is marked as complete. Profiles with “Incomplete” Status by default are Unavailable and must be updated to our standards in order to change their availability status.
To edit or add your bio, hover over your bio section, and click on the pencil icon in the upper righthand corner. Here, you can change your program track, location, and add or change your short bio.
You can also change your resume at any time, click on the “Add resume” button in the “Resume” tab as well as add or change your top industries. To make any edits on your projects, simply click in and click Edit
.
